This notice explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal data. When you provide personal data to us, you are taken to have read and accepted the terms of this policy.
What personal data we collect
When you visit our website
We collect technical information about your visit — including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referral source, pages viewed, time on site and other statistical data. This helps us maintain and improve the site. None of this statistical data identifies you personally. We use cookies to support this; see our Cookies policy for detail.
When you contact us
If you phone, email or submit an enquiry through our site, we will collect your name, email address, phone number and any other information you choose to provide. Calls to our team are recorded for quality, training and dispute-resolution purposes. Recordings are retained for seven years.
When you use our comparison service
To give you an accurate quote, we may collect business name, trading address, contact details, meter-point information (MPAN/MPRN), meter serial numbers, annual consumption, current supplier details, and copies of utility bills. The exact information required varies by service but we will only ask for what is genuinely needed to produce a valid comparison.
When you are referred to us by a partner
If you arrive at our site from one of our third-party partners, or a partner passes your details to us, we will have received your name, business address and contact details from that partner. We will inform you of this at the point of first contact.

Who we share your data with
Energy suppliers
To complete a switch, we share your business and contact details with the supplier you select. They act as independent data controllers; their own privacy notices apply from that point.
Water and telecoms partners
If you request a comparison in those areas, we will pass relevant details to our partner provider so they can deliver the service. We only do this at your request or with your explicit consent.
Meter and industry data services
To verify meter numbers, confirm consumption and match your address to the correct meter, we may query industry databases (ElectraLink, Xoserve) and third-party data providers (such as GB Group). This is necessary to produce accurate quotes.
Cloud hosting and IT providers
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by reputable UK- and EEA-based cloud hosting firms, under data-processing agreements that mirror our own security standards.
Regulators and law enforcement
We will share data where we are legally required to do so — for example to HMRC, the Information Commissioner's Office, law-enforcement agencies, or in connection with legal proceedings.
How long we keep your data
We retain personal data for seven years from the date you last interact with us, use our services, or (if longer) the date your energy contract with a supplier arranged by us ends. Call recordings are retained for the same period. Once the retention period expires, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
How we protect your data
- All data is stored on secure UK- and EEA-based servers.
- SSL/TLS encryption is used for data in transit.
- Access to personal data is restricted to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis.
- We do not store payment-card details on our own systems.

Under UK data-protection law you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it (subject to legal retention obligations).

- Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

- Automated decisions — you have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling; contact us if you wish to discuss this.
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@divinetechandsolutionsltd.co.uk. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on your request. We will respond within one calendar month. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
